Of course I would like to continue to direct! It's an absolute dream of a job. I would love to create stories that empower young people, stories about representation and stories about young people in real situations. When you're sat there watching stories come to life on screen, you feel like you're part of it. If we spread positive messages and real messages of what people go through, it's going to bring us together as one.
This story is about accepting your situation but continuing to remain your truest self, which is the battle people have with themselves. I know I definitely had that. I wanted to do so many things, but didn't really know who I was and then realized that I have to go back to my roots in order to know who I am — and I still don't know. I still don't. But there's definitely a growth pattern, and that starts with accepting who you truly are.
It was really hard for me to realize that when everybody's screaming your name all the time and you don't know who you are because everybody else kind of knows who you are. It's a confusing process and that's not just my situation, that's young girls all over the world.
