Damage to a monument on the Hill of Tara in Co Meath, has been described as a"mindless act of vandalism".
Speaking on RTÉ's Morning Ireland, Independent councillor and Cathoirleach of Meath County Council Nick Killian said the Hill of Tara is one of Ireland's most important and significant sites. Mr Killian said the Office of Public Works have said they will clean the stone and"get it back to its natural order as soon as possible".
