Minister for Media Catherine Martin will bring two memos to a meeting of the Cabinet on the implementation of the recommendations outlined in the external reviews of RTÉ.
The update is expected to result in the allocation to RTÉ of €20 million which was previously pledged by the Government. Ms Martin plans to make legislative changes to also give the Comptroller and Auditor General oversight of RTÉ. It will be contained in the new broadcasting bill that will be published in the third quarter of this year.
