DEAR MISS MANNERS: My husband and I have been married for 17 years, and my mother-in-law does not like me. She never really has, and I never knew why.
I always thought he was just making up excuses to get off the phone. The reality is that I am the one cooking dinner; I am the one driving the girls to their club meetings; I am the one cleaning up before guests arrive. Not him. EVER. I finally saw the light: My husband is taking credit for all the things that I actually do. She dislikes me so much because she is under the impression that my husband does EVERYTHING while I sit around and do nothing. This couldn’t be further from the truth.
