Despite summer just ending, some retailers in Ireland have already started preparing for Christmas, with festive chocolates like Cadbury's Heroes, Celebrations and Roses appearing in supermarkets like Dunnes Stores 117 days early. It may appeal to some early shoppers, but others aren't so happy.
The summer holidays are barely even over, and already some retailers are getting ready for Christmas. Brown Thomas unveiled its Christmas shop in mid-August, while several businesses have begun hiring temporary staff for the festive season.
The image, posted on Twitter by user Dawn_Galway, shows stacks of these festive treats, seemingly priced at €6. The post quickly went viral, garnering over 230,000 views and sparking a heated debate in the comments.
