McSharry didn't sleep until 5am on the morning after her triumphant bronze in Paris and she was back in the pool this morning
Bronze medal winner Mona McSharry just knew that Daniel Wiffen would strike gold in the Olympic pool on Tuesday night.

Full list for day 5 in Paris"It was nice to be on that side of it and get to experience that for a teammate," McSharry said. "We don't day to day chat but I've been away on a lot of trips with him and we're good friends, as much as you can be when you travel for a week and then you don't see each other for nine months. We're good, yeah.
"It's honestly really impressive. I’m excited for him. They’re completely different events, but it’s definitely in general a boost knowing that I’m part of an Irish team that’s doing so well – two medals from the swim team, three women back here in races two nights ago is just great performances so far, and I’m excited to see how the rest of the week goes for us.
McSharry finished third in her heat this morning in her third fastest time at the distance. And that was decent going because the Sligo star didn't sleep until 5am after winning her Olympic bronze. Does having a medal banked change her perception of what she can do in the 200? "Not really, no, I want to make the final in the 200," she said. "If I make it back into the semis, that's better than what I did at the last Olympics so I'm just trying to take it step by step and see what happens."
"I watched back a couple of clips of my post interview and I started crying and I was like, ‘Oh right, I’m going to have to leave that until after we’re done’. But I’ll review everything after I’m done racing."
