The 'crater' is said to be on the off-slip at junction 20, the south end of Kingston Bridge, and is wreaking havoc for motorists, some of whom have been forced to splash out hundreds on repairs.
A huge pothole near the busy M8 has reportedly caused damage to multiple vehicles including a "brand new Porsche".
