MoonKnight has been Certified Fresh by Rotten Tomatoes and, surprisingly, it's only the 2nd MCU Disney+ show to receive this designation. What If..? is the only other Marvel Disney+ series to be Certified Fresh on the review aggregator website.

Moon Knight has officially been Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, the second MCU Disney+ show to earn the designation. The series, which is the latest live-action show from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, premiered the first of its six episodes on Disney+ on March 30, 2022. The show stars Oscar Isaac as Steven Grant, a shy British clerk who works at a museum gift shop.

The premiere of Moon Knight left a lot of mysteries that still need to be unraveled, but it did introduce the main villain of the series, the sinister cult leader Arthur Harrow . Harrow worships the goddess Ammit and has no compunction about sucking the life out of his followers using his supernatural tattoo, depicting a scale that balances the goodness of a person's soul, both in the past and in the future.

In addition to its newly minted Certified Fresh status, Moon Knight has also increased its audience score from 93% to 94%. This rise from its previous standing is impressive, considering the fact that it was already the highest audience score for any live-action Disney+ MCU series. This is also surprising, considering the fact that Moon Knight is currently being review-bombed on IMDb because of a line in the first episode that acknowledges the Armenian genocide.

Moon Knight occupies a precarious position, considering it's both the first MCU project of 2022 and the first Disney+ series to introduce a brand new lead hero. If the show had been a failure, it could have had massive repercussions on the rest of the MCU, including the next show Ms. Marvel, which is introducing its own new character who is already confirmed to appear elsewhere in the franchise.
