Eoin Morgan is set to step down as England captain

The Irishman, however, struggled for form, going for ducks in the first two matches and he missed the final game after suffering with a groin problem.

There had been a lot of speculation, prior to these reports of retirement that are expected to be confirmed on Tuesday, about Morgan’s future, as he only has one half century in his last 26 white-ball appearances for England.

Jos Buttler is the favourite to take over the captaincy, having played 151 ODI’s for England and 88 T20’s and he is in terrific form, having hit an incredible 162 not out off 70 balls in the first game against the Netherlands.
