The most affordable areas of Greater Manchester for first-time buyers to get on the property ladder
With house prices and mortgage rates rising, it has become even more difficult for first-time buyers to get on the property ladder. In Greater Manchester, the average price of a home is now £257,700 which has gone up by 16 percent since the peak in 2020.
Other cheap areas of the borough, where you can buy a home for less than £200,000, are Heaton , Kearsley and Westhoughton .Bury Although some parts of Bury are unaffordable for first-time buyers, there are a few areas where you might be able to find a home with a low price-tag.Radcliffe is also affordable, where houses are selling for around £233,990, as well as Tottington with an average price of £241,930.
House prices also fall below the region's average in Cheetham Hill , Longsight , Hulme , Rusholme , Blackley , Ardwick , Crumpsall and Fallowfield .Oldham First-time buyers who are looking to buy their first home in Oldham will have plenty of affordable areas to choose from.You can also buy a property at a much more reasonable price in Lees , Shaw , Chadderton , Royton and Failsworth .
The cheapest areas are Edgeley and Reddish , which tend to be the main places where you can find a more reasonably priced property.
