Last month, housing minister Jacob Young issued a letter to Tory MPs stating that the power to evict tenants without giving a reason under Section 21 of the Housing Act would remain in place until an assessment had been made of the legal system to see if it could handle the changes. Around 43 per cent of renters questioned said they will be less likely to trust the Conservatives at the election if the Renters Reform Bill is not delivered as promised.
