Cabinet to approve Mother and Baby remembrance centre at former Magdalene Laundry in Dublin city.
Cabinet is to approve a masterplan for a national remembrance centre to honour the residents of Mother and Baby Homes.
It will also provide digital access to records and exhibits, as well as developing physical presences elsewhere to enable survivors to visit more easily. Speaking in March 2022, Equality Minister Roderic O'Gorman said this centre would help future generations to understand. "I believe this project will make a significant contribution in our journey of recognising and learning from the failures of the past and acknowledging the hurt which continues to be felt by survivors and their families," he added.
