Motorcyclist killed in crash with cargo van near Escondido [Breaking]
A 26-year-old motorcycle rider was killed in a crash with a cargo van in an unincorporated area near Escondido on Saturday.
The collision occurred about 2:15 p.m. on Mary Lane near Summit Drive, just outside of Escondido’s southern city limits. The motorcyclist was headed north when the driver of the Nissan NV 1500 van pulled out of a private driveway and struck the Honda CBR motorcycle, said California Highway Patrol Officer Hunter Gerber.AdvertisementInvestigators believe neither alcohol nor drugs was a factor in the crash, Gerber said.
Anyone with information about the crash was asked to call the CHP’s office in North County at 643-3400.
