Six people, including an Arizona trooper, were taken to the hospital after the collision.
An overnight multi-vehicle collision on Interstate 10 near Guadalupe Road in Phoenix left one person dead and five people injured, including an Arizona trooper.
Just after midnight on Sunday a vehicle struck a Department of Public Safety patrol vehicle that was parked protecting a car-fire scene, according to DPS. This caused the patrol vehicle to strike a nearby car. After the initial collision, the first vehicle spun and continued down the emergency lane, striking three people who were standing near the car fire.
The driver and passenger of the first vehicle, the trooper and the three pedestrians were taken to the hospital.The trooper was in good condition and recovering. The condition of the others who were injured was unclear.
