Gardai have launched an investigation

A gardai spokesperson said: "We are currently at the scene of an incident in the Stoneybatter area of Dublin 7."There is no ongoing risk to the public at this time.Gardaí are going door-to-door to interview residents and get access to doorbell or mobile phone footage of the attacks. Minister for Justice Jim O'Callaghan said this evening: "I am receiving updates from an Garda Siochana about the situation in Stoneybatter. The suspect is now in custody and the victims of this awful random attack are receiving medical attention."
Gary Gannon, TD, said: "Heartbreaking news from Stoneybatter in the last few hours. My thoughts are with the victims, their families, and the entire community affected by this. "A sincere thank you to our emergency services and the Gardaí for such a quick response this afternoon."
