A soon-to-be mother is facing criticism online for her unconventional spelling choice for her baby girl's name. She and her husband prefer 'funky' spellings of traditional names, like 'Kiely' for 'Kylie' and 'Saylor' for 'Sailor'. Commenters are divided, with some supporting her right to choose, while others warn of the potential difficulties her daughter may face.

I love Saylor as an alternate spelling of Sailor. 'Am I damning my child to mispronunciation and misspelling of her name forever? Is it in bad taste to name my kid a name with a goofy spelling? Any and all opinions are welcome!' Commenters on the post were split over the mum's take, with some accusing her of 'condemning' her child to a life of having to spell their name out for people. Some, however, believed the mum was well within her rights to spell her daughter's name however she chooses - as long as it makes sens
