A man and a woman have been arrested after footage emerged online that allegedly showed a baby being given a shot of vodka.
A shirtless man wearing shorts and trainers could be seen in the background during the 14-second video that was posted on social media.
Loud music could be heard playing as the baby – who appeared to be around eight months to a year old – sat on the floor with the woman. Police confirmed officers were called to a property in Dover, Kent, in the early hours of June 21 following reports of a disturbance.Footage emerged that allegedly showed a baby being given a shot of vodka.
A spokesman for the force said: ‘Upon attending, officers were made aware of concerns for a child at an address in the area. ‘Actions were taken to safeguard those involved and a man and a woman were arrested on suspicion of child cruelty later the same day.Social services were also tipped off about the incident and the baby is understood to still be with their parents.A spokesman said: ‘I can confirm social services are aware of this and have taken appropriate action.’
