Mum's horror as 11 newborn babies are killed after blaze rips through ward
MUMS have been left horrified after a blaze ripped through a maternity ward killing eleven newborn babies.The fire killed eleven newborn babies in Tivaouane, SenegalThe country's President Macky Sall who is on a state visit to Angola, confirmed the tragedy and offered his condolences to the heartbroken parents.
He tweeted: "I have just learned with pain and consternation the death of 11 newborn babies in the fire that occurred in the neonatology department of the Mame Abdou Aziz Sy Dabakh hospital in Tivaouane.According to the country's health minister Abdoulaye Diouf Sarr, investigators believe the fire was caused by a short circuit.
