Kam Maan and four other women affected by breast cancer took part in the glamorous day alongside Liberty X singer
A Nottingham mum with breast cancer has taken part in a special celebrity photoshoot to raise money and awareness of the disease. Kam Maan was feeling the pink last week as she and four other women affected by breast cancer took part in the glamorous day alongside Liberty X singer, Michelle Heaton.
Back in April the 56-year-old had taken part in another event for charity, where she graced the catwalk wearing a dress by the celebrity designer brand Raishma. This event inspired the designer to create the fashion fundraiser and launch it with a special photoshoot starring real women as well as Michelle, who was diagnosed 12 years ago.It was found that Michelle had the BRCA2 mutation gene, which meant she had up to an 85 percent chance of contracting breast cancer at an early age.
Titled Still Me, the images will be posted on the designer’s website where a collection of dresses are available, with 10 percent of each dress sold over the next year going to the breast cancer awareness charity. She added: “Modelling beside a pop star was a fun experience. Michelle was so friendly and down to earth - she made us all feel so welcome. October is the official month of breast cancer awareness but for anyone impacted by it, every month, week, day and hour is precious.”
