A WASPI mum and grandmother from Clitheroe says she lost almost £50,000 - and has blasted ‘institutionalised discrimination’ that has hit women of her generation.
Also among the injustices is the fact that divorce settlements, including sharing of pensions, was based on an expected state pension retirement age of 60, she says, with many solicitors unaware of the changes, like the women themselves, owing to poor communication. “Anybody getting divorced, it was based on getting your pension at 60, so that’s another reason why these women are struggling, if they got divorced.
