Munster and Taulagi ruled out of Origin after positive COVID-19 tests
Queensland’s preparations for the State of Origin series decider are in chaos with star man Cameron Munster and rookie winger Murray Taulagi on the verge of being ruled out after testing positive to COVID-19.
Brisbane’s Corey Oates has been called into camp as a replacement for Taulagi, while Cowboys five-eighth Tom Dearden, 18th man earlier in the series, is in line to replace Munster in Queensland’s 17 with Ben Hunt another option to be promoted to the starting side. But the escalating virus rates across the country have now had an impact on the Origin climax, which is tipped to be the most watched television event of the year.Both NSW and Queensland players have been undergoing testing twice a day to monitor any potential spread of COVID-19, with the Blues also on high alert after squad member Nicho Hynes returned a positive result earlier this week.
