Sean Zeisz told detectives he played no role in organising the attempted assassination of Ashley's boyfriend, Lee Harrison

One of the men accused of organising the shooting which killed Ashley Dale told detectives he was "disgusted" by her killing and had no involvement.

Yesterday the trial of six men in connection with Ashley's death opened. The jury were told Witham has admitted manslaughter but denies murder, claiming he only meant to "send a message" to Harrison over a drugs related dispute, and did not see or hear Ashley when he fired the gun. The jury heard Zeisz provided a prepared statement in which he denied being present when Ashley was killed. In later interviews, when he was accused of instead carrying out an "organisational role", he provided a further statement, but did not answer questions throughout.

According to Zeisz, Witham became "rowdy" and was asked to leave by Barry. Zeisz said Peers agreed to leave with Witham, but that after the two men left he called Peers to ask him to pick up some cigarettes. In the early hours of the morning, he says Peers returned with the cigarettes and had Witham with him.Mr Greaney said Zeisz offered no further information in his interview, but he told the jury he understands Zeisz will add to his account during the trial.
