I am a mum of three and my third child is 7months old. She is SO forward. To the point she was completely conscious and directly looking at me as soon as they shown me her after my emergency c section. She could see clearly from day one and was even trying to hold her head up.

Around 5months She starts saying mum, mama, mummy, mam, which I understand are just noises as such and they don't know what they're saying. I was still impressed however as da-da is usually first sounding things babies say. She's 7months old now and clearly says cat. When the cats jump up she gets excited and shouts CAT! It's crystal clear she unerstands what it is.

I was just wondering if this is quiet common? My other girls didn't speak this early. Around 13 months my second girl and my oldest has High functioning autism so she was a little later to the verbal front. We've moved your thread into our drop-in clinic Baby and child health board, so you can get the advice and support you need. We've moved your thread into our drop-in clinic Baby and child health board, so you can get the advice and support you need.

Some children do speak early, so this is not something to worry about. Every child is unique and will do things when they are developmentally ready.my daughter could speak about 10 words by then and lots of others were the same. She could talk in 5/6 word sentences by 18 months……and it hasn’t stopped her chatting away either 🤣
