Bandai Namco has unveiled My Hero Ultra Rumble, an upcoming free-to-play battle royale based on the My Hero anime.

The publisher revealed the game during a summer showcase at this year’s Anime Expo 2022 in LA over the weekend. Byking is the studio handling development on the game, who were previously responsible for. In this game, players will join three player squads and will compete against seven other squads for a total of 24 players.

Players can pick from a range of characters from the anime as they play as Heroes or Villains, with the ability to rescue or intimidate NPC civilians on the field to help contribute to their squad’s victory. Each player will also be able to take one of five roles; Strike, Assault, Rapid, Technical and Support. Players will also have a special Quirk for their individual characters, to hopefully give them an edge on the field.

You’ll be able to unlock new characters and customisation options by getting experience and winning rounds too, of course. To give fans a taste of what to expect, there’ll be a closed beta on the PlayStation 4 next month. The beta will take place across two phases, with the first between August 17 – 18. The second meanwhile will then take place from August 18 through until August 21.
