The N.J. public worker pension fund posted a return of 3.3% in the first half of fiscal year 2022.
the fund added during the same period in fiscal year 2021. The pension fund’s 28.63% return that year remains one of the best on record.
“We are living in volatile times, and markets are moving in a more volatile fashion,” Goldman Sachs Group President and CEO John Waldron said during a virtual meeting Wednesday. Waldron was a guest speaker for the State Investment Council annual meeting. The pension fund supports the retirement of about 800,000 active and retired state and local government workers, has long beenin the nation. In the second half of last year, it was hit especially hard by underperforming stocks in emerging markets.
