Nadia El-Nakla, the wife of First Minister Humza Yousaf, said everyone in Gaza fears they'll die.

Ms El-Nakla, who is a Dundee councillor, spoke to the SNP conference, as her parents, Elizabeth and Maged, remain trapped in Gaza, fearing for their lives, as it is bombed by Israel and a ground invasion by Israeli troops is imminent.

She told how her brother works in a hospital in Gaza but as medical supplies have run out, is unable to treat anyone.Ms El-Nakla, said: “I’ve seen many wars in Gaza but nothing like this. We are used to suffering but this time is different. She told how bombs are being dropped on people out in the open. The councillor called in the international community to intervene. She said the UK should be “sending supplies instead of spy planes”.

Earlier, Humza Yousaf told of a phone call from Nadia’s mother Elizabeth, last night when she and others feared they were about to be bombed and was “saying her goodbyes”.The delegates passed the resolution that condemned the Hamas attack on Israeli citizens, said international law must be respected and Collective punishment rejected.

It stated:"Conference reaffirms support for a two-state solution which recognises the right of both the State of Israel and the State of Palestine to exist and prosper, and which respects international law and the human rights of those in the region."Readers’ comments: You are personally liable for the content of any comments you upload to this website, so please act responsibly.
