The young manager was not the only high-profile boss to lose their job last week after Tottenham sacked Antonio Conte. Spurs’ most successful period this century came under Mauricio Pochettino, whose attacking, high pressing style helped the Londoners reach the Champions League final in 2019. During a Q&A for Football London, Gold was asked about Nagelsmann and issued a lengthy response, revealing that the 35-year-old watched Spurs during Pochettino’s time in charge.“And that idea was shared by Pochettino as he transformed Tottenham into a consistent top four side and took them to the Champions League final. The journalist was keen to note that Nagelsmann will probably need some time to “mentally recover” after his surprise Bayern exit.
“However, it’s very much down to making themselves the most attractive option if they decide that he’s the man.“As for a pre-contract, if Spurs decide he’s the one then doing that would get it all sorted very early.
