The country music sensation played a special one-off concert in the chapel of Roscommon's Castlerea prison - he was stepping into Johnny Cash's famous footsteps
Nathan Carter was contacted by a man in prison, who was inspired by his incredible music. This spurred him on to perform behind bars in Ireland tonight.
Speaking from the Roscommon prison, Nathan told RSVP Live: "A good few years ago a guy reached out and said that he was inspired by my music. I didn't realise he had been in prison. He said that my music really helped him." "Of course, there are three charities involved as well. Raising money for them is a bonus. I will be channelling my inner Johnny Cash."
However, this concert is for staff, the local community and invited guests, so the prisoners won't get to see it live.
