Almost one in two people believe Ryan Tubridy should be allowed to return in air to present his RTE radio show, a new opinion poll has revealed.
The poll, conducted by the Irish Mail on Sunday/Amarach, also showed that some 16% said they ‘don’t know’ if he should be allowed to return. However, the poll also reveals most people blame RTE’s executive board for the hidden payments scandal following the former Late Late Show host’s and his agent Noel Kelly’s appearances before the Public Accounts Committee and the Oireachtas Media Committee last Tuesday.
The 59% who do not believe trust can be restored is a drop from the 72% who said the same thing when asked the same question in a previous poll by the newspaper just days after the scandal broke.
