National Grid gas sale has green edge on Macquarie, writes gfhay and AntonyMCurrie
National Grid said on March 27 that it would sell a 60% equity interest in its UK gas transmission and metering business to a consortium including Macquarie Asset Management and British Columbia Investment Management Corporation.
National Grid’s gas transmission business had a regulated asset value of approximately 6.6 billion pounds, and its net debt was 3.8 billion pounds.
