It was a weekend to remember for Irish EuroMillions players after two lucky punters became overnight millionaires
There were celebrations this week at two local shops around the country after they were both revealed to have sold winning tickets in Friday night’s special EuroMillions Raffle draw, which are worth €1 million each.
Now Lotto bosses have revealed that the €1 million-winning tickets were sold at The Day-Today store Ongar in Dublin 15, and Nolan’s Garage Londis in Tralee, Co. Kerry. “It was some shock getting the call from the National Lottery - I wasn’t expecting it! This is the largest win we’ve ever had in store, the highest was a €40,000 scratch card win, so I’m delighted that we can be part of the big celebrations," he said.
It's the second time the store has sold a seven-figure winning Lotto ticket, with third generation store owner, Mark Nolan, admitted that the news came as a surprise. The National Lottery can confirm that both winners from Kerry and Dublin have made contact with and arrangements are currently being made for them to claim their prizes.
