A national restaurant chain has been given the green light to open its first Scottish restaurant in Glasgow.

Turtle Bay submitted plans to open a restaurant in the former Barrhead Travel unit at 130 St Vincent Street.

The Caribbean food chain is based in Bristol and has over 50 locations in England and Wales but they are yet to make their mark onPlans include internally fitting out the ground floor space of the category B-listed building and transforming it from a retail unit into a restaurant.The application reads:"The proposals are modest in scale and will enhance the provision of restaurants within the city centre, providing welcome investment and employment.
