North Texas can expect record highs today as temperatures climb to near 100 degrees.
The record high for DFW is in jeopardy today as temperatures climb to near 100 today. .
This late summer pattern will keep things hot and dry for several more days. High temperatures will be running about 10-12 degrees above normal through the weekend. Thankfully, humidity levels have peaked and should slowly decrease in the coming days, but it's still going to be quite hot. Thursday evening is the official start of fall. However, it will continue to feel like summer into the weekend. In addition, dry weather will persist beneath sunny skies.
Next week some heat relief is expected in the form of a cold front Sunday night into Monday morning. This front will bring highs back down into the 80s with overnight lows into the 60s. Unfortunately though, no rain is expected with the front.Download NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth
