Farrugia marked his comeback from injury in style on Friday night, when he netted the third goal in Shamrock Rovers' 3-0 win over Bohemians
Neil Farrugia dreams of one day joining his Shamrock Rovers teammates Jack Byrne and Graham Burke by pulling on the green jersey.
“I guess in some ways I can only really control what happens on the pitch. Whether that's enough to get me into the next squad or whatever, hopefully it is, but it's not really in my control.Byrne and Burke have been capped while playing in the League of Ireland, but senior recognition while playing at home has been hard to come by.
“It was a fast pace, all the lads are really top quality footballers and it was great to be in that environment. Moments after his arrival as an 80th minute substitute, the ball fell kindly to him inside the area, he took a touch and curled a shot high into the right-hand-corner of the net. “It was , because I've been out now for the past eight weeks or so, so to come on and score like that means all the hard work paid off. I'm delighted,” he said.
