The well-behaved boy was playing outside his Glasgow home when all of a sudden he disappeared. Alarms were raised when his mum, Margaret-Ann Cummings, called police. Sniffer dogs, police helicopters were brought in, and posters with pictures of the missing child were put up. At around 11pm that night Mark's body was discovered in a body bag after he had been beaten and sexually assaulted.Stuart Leggate, who was a convicted peadophile, lived in the apartment block with his father. He was later found guilty of the heinous crime.
Margaret-Ann continues to campaign for a web-based public registry containing information about high-risk sex offenders, which can be searched by name or postcode.
