Netflix wants you to really think hard about ordering fried chicken ever again
. Now, though, we have a better idea of what the film's story is about – and it seems like fried chicken is the reason behind the mysterious goings-on in the town that Boyega's Fontain, Foxx's Slick Charles, and Parris' Yo-Yo inhabit.In a press release, Netflix provided a brief plot synopsis that, well, doesn't really add much to what you've just seen in the teaser.
Unsurprisingly for a film partly positioned as a mystery/conspiracy thriller, though, all isn't as it seems. After finding a secret elevator, the trio unearth a below-ground laboratory where – surprise surprise – they find a clone of Fontaine. Cue bouts of paranoia that they are being brainwashed and/or controlled by the government through their favorite foods: fried chicken and grape juice.
