Tánaiste Simon Harris will seek Cabinet approval to create a new US body to advise on “how to deal with potential policy changes brought about by the administration of President Donald Trump ”.
At Cabinet, Mr Harris, who is also foreign affairs and trade minister, will seek approval for two proposals related to his brief. Sources have confirmed the SEAP will be asked to “advise the Government on strategic economic opportunities and risks in respect of the US-Ireland economic relationship”.
