The new National Children's Hospital will not open before April 2025 at the earliest, the Public Accounts Committee has heard.
Representatives of Children's Health Ireland are appearing before the PAC this morning, where the substantial completion date of 29 October 2024 was confirmed.CHI Chief Executive Eilis Hardiman was asked if the new hospital would see children being admitted in April 2025, but could only say that the so-called"commissioning period" would take at least six months after the substantial completion date - adding that was subject to being tested.
Ms Hardiman also said that part of the process would be to migrate the three existing children's hospitals into the new facility, which would take between seven and ten days.
