The Scottish Premiership club have tied down Kieran O’Hara, twice capped at senior international level, to a new contract.
Kieran O’Hara has signed a one-year extension at Kilmarnock. The one-time Manchester United prospect moved to Rugby Park last summer after spending a season at Colchester and spent most of the campaign as back-up to Will Dennis, who spent the campaign on-loan from Bournemouth.
He made five appearances in all competitions but will begin the battle for the number one jersey this time around when the squad returns for pre-season training on Thursday. Manchester-born O’Hara joined United as a 16-year-old and was at the club for eight years, before moving to Burton Albion in 2020.READ MORE: Willy Sagnol responds to question about Ireland job ahead of Georgia's Euro debut
While he didn’t make a first-team appearance, he played plenty of senior football during loan spells at Trafford, Stockport County, Morecambe, Macclesfield and Burton. He has since played for Fleetwood and Colchester, while he won two senior Ireland caps under Mick McCarthy in 2019, as a substitute against Bulgaria and from the start against New Zealand.
