The venue serves a 'diverse range' of its own gin and 'international pub classics with a modern twist'

Tucked behind a terraced house on Hope Street on the edge of the Georgian Quarter, 23 Hope Street's gin garden is equipped with benches, a yellow brick wall, an antique street light, and its very own well, all overlooked by a veranda-like link between the main building and the kitchen out back.

From the same people behind Turncoat Distillery and its basement bar at the Albert Dock, the new venue on Hope Street aims "to be reflective of the history of the address". 23 Hope Street was once home to El Macho Mexican Grill before being kitted out with upcycled furniture and a menu of "international pub classics with a modern twist".

With plenty of veggie and gluten free options, 23 Hope Street also serves a crumbly vegan sausage roll made by the Gluten Free Pie Company, based in Liverpool 8. Manager Michael said, as an local independent business, they "want to work with as many independents as possible". Unsurprisingly 23 Hope Street offers Turncoat Distillery's "diverse range" of gins, as well as beer from Black Lodge Brewery, also co-founded by Turncoat creator Terry Langton. Alongside this offering, the venue has wine and beer from local and regional producers, like This Time Next Year from the Warrington-based Twisted Wheel Brew Co.
