Skipper for the night Jack Conan has high praise for Charlie Tector, who was crucial to Leinster's URC kick-off ending in victory against Edinburgh
Jack Conan has hailed the emergence of another Leinster back off the conveyor belt. Along with Gus McCarthy and Conor O'Tighearnaigh, Charlie Tector made his first start for the province in last Friday's URC opener at Edinburgh.
But Conan was delighted to see the Wexford starlet seize his chance as he pushed Jamison Gibson-Park for the man of the match award at Hive Stadium. "Charlie in particular, I thought, was brilliant, he worked really hard. He got that block down on the drop goal attempt late on in the game as well. So everyone's happy for him and hopefully now he can just push on and stay healthy."
"So it was difficult for those lads, everyone else has had minutes under their belt so it's difficult coming in from the cold but I think lads made a good account of themselves and it's a great start to the year. I know we have lots of things to improve on, but pretty happy overall." "So it's good for me, I enjoyed it and it's a massive privilege for me to captain Leinster in any game, but to do it in a caps game is brilliant.
