A new restaurant is opening in the spot where an Italian eatery traded for more than a decade. Vaadi is the name and it will be serving a Mediterranean menu of mostly Turkish dishes alongside pasta, risotto and pizza - and chicken nuggets for the kids.Previously Bella Mia, it struggled when restaurants were allowed to reopen after the pandemic and the family-owned business was put up for sale in the summer of 2022.
"The opportunity came and we just took it. The hospitality industry is something we've been in before so it's not new to me. With it being such a well-established business previously we knew there was clientele. There's not many independent restaurants in Hucknall." The Italian options aren't as extensive as they used to be with four pasta dishes such as seafood linguini and penne arrabiata, three types of risotto and five different pizzas. Prices for a main are between £12.95 and £18.95.
