She was pulled from the water with severe injuries
Witnesses say the woman, 50, was pulled from the water at Rockaway Beach in Queens with severe injuries on Monday evening.
It is believed that she was bitten on the left leg by some kind of shark, though police have not yet confirmed what exactly caused the attack. The woman was rushed to a nearby hospital where she is recovering, police said.
