BREAKING: The new King and Queen have left Westminster Abbey and are returning to Buckingham Palace.
As the rain poured down, military personnel gathered along a road from the church ahead of the coronation procession.
The tri-service Guard of Honour resumed position in front of the Queen Victoria Memorial opposite Buckingham Palace as heavy rain continued to fall. Many of the armed services personnel stood in puddles while rain could be seen dripping from the bearskin helmets of the dozens of Coldstream Guards in front of the palace.He wore crimson robes for the occasion at Westminster Abbey, the site of every coronation for the past nine centuries.But not everyone was as hooked by the lavish ceremony.
The historic Coronation of Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla will take place in Westminster Abbey today .
