Several of Saturday's papers lead with developments surrounding the vaccination of 12-15-year-olds. The rollout of the vaccine to millions of schoolchildren is due to begin as soon as next week, according to the Times, despite the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation deciding not to recommend it. The JCVI said the final decision should now be made by the chief medical officers of the four home nations.
Mr Javid has told the chief medical officer to "consider the matter from a broader perspective".The Daily Mail describes the decision as a sign of "chaos" as its asks: "What will parents think?" The paper says Mr Javid has told Prof Whitty to consider the "non-health benefits", including the potential to reduce the disruption to children's education.
