Michael Beale has been sacked as Rangers manager and there is a new frontrunner.
A frontrunner has emerged for the Rangers job following the sacking of Michael Beale earlier on Sunday.
Rangers have endured a torrid start to the league season as they trail Celtic by seven points and sit beside St Mirren in third place.Muscat is the current manager of Yokohama F. Marinos in Japan and has previously managed Melbourne Victory and Sint-Truiden. Former Leeds manager Jesse Marsch is second in the odds with Graham Potter also in the reckoning at 5/1 in Betfair's latest odds.
And Betfair Spokesperson Sam Rosbottom said: "Rangers are looking for a new manager after parting ways with Michael Beale, and the early favourite is their former defender Kevin Muscat, who could follow in the footsteps of Ange Postecoglu and move from Japan’s J1 League to the Scottish Premiership.” “The early money however, has been for former Chelsea manager Graham Potter, who has been without a job since he got his P45 at Stamford Bridge. We have cut his odds from 12/1 to 5/1 following a flurry of bets backing Potter since we opened the market.”Ralph Hasenhuttle 15/2Get the latest sports headlines straight to your inbox by signing up for free email alerts.
