One Direction alumnus and Mullingar man Niall Horan recently hosted some special charity golfing events with pro-golfer Justin Rose for a very worthy cause. As well as raising all this cash, Horan met with young cancer patients at a bowling alley to have a bit of fun.“They had been through so much but they were all so strong and positive. It was really inspiring.”May 30, 2016
Luna Caden, an eight-year-old who had rhabdomyosarcoma at just a year old, but is now cnacer-free, was delighted to see Niall. “I thought he was a really nice person, he asked me about my family and I think it’s great that someone so busy being famous has time to come and meet us, and is helping to raise money so other kids don’t have to go through the same thing.”Elliot Abel, 17, who had Hodgkin Lymphoma and is currently in remission, was also singing Niall’s praises: had no choice but to overcome his fear of needles during months of chemotherapy and steroid treatment.
“He didn’t treat us like we were any different to normal teenagers who didn’t have cancer, which means so much. “Chatting to Niall was like spending time with an old friend who you hadn’t met for a while, we were talking about college, music and golf.”Alison Kingbody positivityWill Meghan and Harry return to the UK?
