Nineties rock frontwoman, 57, has barely aged a day after Britpop band’s top 5 albums
The 57-year-old shot to fame with the band Sleeper in 1992, enjoying success with hit tracks like The It Girl and Nice Guy Eddie.After two decades of hibernating, Sleeper is back with a number of UK tour dates.
Original members Louise, Jon Stewart and Andy Maclure will be joined by The Prodigy star Kieron Pepper.Louise shared the news on social media, writing: "Join us for our next run of fabulous unplugged eves!! Tickets on sale now!"The band made a name for themselves in the 90s, achieving eight top 40 singles across three top ten albums.
They played the main stages of Reading and Glastonbury Festival and had sold-out tours across the UK.They split in 1998 but reunited in 2017 for the Star Shaped Festival alongside other Britpop acts including Space, Dodgy and The Bluetones.She also wrote a memoir, Different for Girls, and co-wrote the BBC Radio 4 drama series Queens of Noise with Roy Boulter of The Farm.“You’d find yourself arguing about chorus progression in a studio then you’ve got producers and managers and PR people.
"It just became this ludicrous circus by the end of it and I didn’t feel connected to the creative process very much by that stage.Louise has written four novels: Goodnight Steve McQueen, The Big Blind , The Half Life of Stars, and Worldwide Adventures In Love.
