Italy brought in new rules and tests at Milan’s main airport on December 26 showed almost half of the passengers were infected.

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni called on other EU countries to follow suit so that the new rules were effective. “The international epidemiological situation in relation to Covid-19 and travel is closely monitored, including collaboratively with EU partners,” they said.“It is expected that further EU-level engagements will take place in the coming days.
The spokesperson also noted that up to date travel information is published on the Government’s website.
