Half of the 50 states are now moving to ban abortion, many even in cases of rape, incest and foetal abnormality. Abortion clinics are already closing.Circumstances are very different in Britain, but that hasn't stopped publicity-hungry politicians joining in the American abortion debate. She and Labour MP Dame Diana Johnston are now pushing an"all party amendment" for a right to abortion to be included in the government's proposed British Bill of Rights.More senior party leaders on all sides are desperate not to be drawn into the abortion debate.
